Along with the eclectically styled bedrooms, an informal café, bar and 'excellent' restaurant (Mattias Larsson is the new chef) are to be found within this Grade II listed former coaching inn in the centre of town. Owners Nikki and Richard Cooper, along with 'young, very friendly and helpful' staff, offer a welcoming atmosphere to families. Lose the Blues Special Offer

Amazing value at £69 per person dinner, bed & breakfast, staying two nights and to include dinner on one night in the restaurant and the other night in The Stable. Tuck-in to the best Dorset produce there is with dinner both nights. One night in our restaurant with a three-course evening meal, the other in The Stable, our cider house selling pizzas and pies.

Excellent, locally sourced food. Quirky and spacious rooms. I asked for a room at the back but a local band struck up in the courtyard below our window. After half an hour I'd had enough. The manager moved us to a bigger room at the front where we couldn't hear them.Didn't like the glass soap dispensers in the bathrooms.

Rooms as described, 'shabby chic'. Not cheap.. More restaurant than gastro pub. Dinner excellent Restaurant spills over into bar so not ideal for just a drink. Breakfast good, but service chaotic, possibly as half term weekend. Staff young, friendly,helpful - top marks.

Very lively. Very family-friendly. Good dinners and breakfasts. A good family suite with two bedrooms and a sitting room. Our four-poster room had poor lighting and no shelves in the bathroom. Very friendly local staff.
