'Warm welcome, lovely room, tasty food.' In a Victorian gentleman's hillside residence, which has 'stunning' views over the Derwent valley, this homely guest house is run by Jason and Rachel Salter. Breakfasts are 'first class', served in the oak-panelled dining room (open fire in winter; no background music). Mr Salter cooks a three-course dinner (modern English with an Italian influence) by arrangement. Lounge. Wi-Fi. 2-acre wooded garden. 1/4 mile from centre. 5 bedrooms (2 on ground floor). B&B £40--£55 per person. Dinner £25 (BYO wine)

A relaxing break. The house is stunning, as is the surrounding scenery. On arrival we were given all the details needed to make our stay hassle-free. The room was clean and modern, filter coffee, and mini-fridge to keep own drinks cool a much appreciated extra. Service friendly without being intrusive. The breakfast was exceptional.

A superb bed and breakfast run by Rachel and Jason and their baby Lily . Situated in a quiet and peaceful area of Holmfirth, overlooking the valley, the house and grounds are wonderful and the service, hospitality and friendliness couldn't be faulted. The food is exceptional - both breakfast and dinner - all cooked by Jason. A definite 'recharging the batteries' place.
