Number 30

Review

'Recommended without reservation', this 'spotless and comfortable' B&B is a short walk from Bath's historic centre. The owners, David and Caroline Greenwood, say fans, are 'friendly, helpful, recommending restaurants and places to visit'. The house is decorated in pastel colours (much blue and white). 'Our bedroom had crisp cotton sheets, blankets (we hate duvets but they are also available), flat-screen TV, CD-player, free Wi-Fi connection, natural toiletries from New Zealand.' Bathrooms are 'impeccable'. Three rooms have facilities en suite; the fourth has an adjacent private bathroom. The 'beautifully cooked and presented' breakfast has an 'amazing range', including fresh fruit, fruit compote, leaf tea, home-made muesli, organic toast, full English. 'A vegetarian option was a sumptuous English muffin spread with pesto, topped with avocado, tomato, mozzarella, then grilled. All this, and home-made marmalade and hedgerow jam.' Help is given with luggage. Car parking is available by arrangement. (Ad van Tiggelen, Kevin and Sabina Connell-Moore, and others)
