Glangrwyney Court

Review

In 'beautiful, peaceful' gardens, amid parkland on the edge of the Brecon Beacons national park, this Grade II listed three-storey Georgian house is the family home of Christina and Warwick Jackson who run it as an upmarket B&B. Reached by a cantilevered staircase of architectural significance, the spacious bedrooms are individually decorated in country house style; all face the garden with its views to the Black Mountains. They have TV, DVD and free Wi-Fi. The master suite has a steam shower; one twin room has a spa bath. Guests are encouraged to relax in the lounge and library, which have log fires in winter, comfortable seating, books and magazines, an honesty bar. An evening meal ('very good, all local produce') is available by arrangement for groups (weddings and other functions are held). The Jacksons will recommend places to eat locally, and organise taxis. The garden has secret sitting areas, tennis and croquet. More reports, please.
