A sweeping drive through extensive grounds leads to Tracey Robinson's 19th-century house built of traditional stone and slate. Richly decorated bedrooms are named after Lake District trees; new garden suites near the river are colonial in style. Andrea Carter is the manager. Chef Gareth Owen's Cumbrian cuisine is adventurous. Music room (vintage Bechstein piano; log fire), bar, Oaks restaurant. Background music. 7-acre grounds; stream. Civil wedding licence. After our first visit to Broadoaks for New Year 2009 we have been back many times, and we have booked our wedding next year with them. The hotel is stunning with the warmest welcome from all the lovely staff. It has a lovely feel and is beautifully decorated throughout.
