Good Hotel Guide Review
Wake up with an appetite. In a leafy suburb north of Summertown, this ‘cheerfully decorated’ B&B, in a large, refurbished Victorian merchant’s house, is gaining a reputation for its delicious breakfasts. There’s freshly ground coffee, home-made granola and yogurt, and ‘excellent’ home-baked bread. Try the marmalade omelette – a speciality. The bedrooms, divided between the main house and the Japanese courtyard, are decorated in a contemporary style. Some may be snug, but all have a comprehensive refreshment tray with home-made biscuits. Nes Saini is the ‘extremely efficient’ manager. Sitting room, breakfast room. Free Wi-Fi, in-room TV. No background music. Small Japanese garden. Limited parking. Children over 12 welcomed. 15 minutes outside the city; frequent buses into the centre. 12 bedrooms (4 on ground floor; 2 in courtyard). Per room B&B from £70. Closed 20 Dec–5 Jan.
