Good Hotel Guide Review
Within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the sea, Jackie and Andy Baker’s Fylde coast B&B pleases with its modern rooms and generous breakfasts. ‘Beautifully fitted’, bedrooms are equipped with up-to-date technology (digital radio, iPod docking station, flat-screen TV); stylish wet rooms (one with a bathtub) have a rain shower and underfloor heating. A tasty breakfast, served in the walled garden when weather permits, has freshly blended smoothies, locally baked bread, Buck’s Fizz; a praiseworthy array of cooked dishes includes local sausages, smoked haddock fish-cakes, pancakes, waffles and eggs Benedict, Arlington or Florentine. The ‘helpful’ hosts have plenty of local knowledge to share – including where to find the best pizza-and-jazz combos in town. Breakfast room (background TV). Free Wi-Fi, in-room TV (Freeview). Decked garden. Children welcomed. 5 bedrooms (‘lots of stairs’), plus 2-bed serviced apartment. Per room B&B single £90–£110, double £110–£140.
