Good Hotel Guide Review
The Michelin star is the obvious draw, but the bedrooms at Paul Kitching and Katie O’Brien’s restaurant-with-rooms are no slouch, either. Light and airy, the large, sleek bedrooms occupy the upper floors of this listed town house, a five-minute walk from the centre. Handsomely styled in forest hues, they have an ample seating area and plenty of storage; their high windows afford impressive views over the city or rear gardens. Take time for pre- and post-dinner drinks in the first-floor drawing room, where oversized windows give good views across Royal Terrace and its gardens to the Firth of Forth and beyond. Afterwards, head into the award-winning restaurant to sample Paul Kitching’s intriguing modern menus. Drawing room, restaurant (closed Sun, Mon); private dining rooms. Free Wi-Fi, in-room TV (Freeview). No background music. Children over 5 welcomed. 4 bedrooms. Per room B&B £95–£295. Dinner £55. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year. 2-night min. stay preferred.
