Good Hotel Guide Review

Opposite the village green, this cosy, stone-built roadside inn has comfortable, country-style accommodation and an award-winning restaurant, popular with locals and visitors alike. Impeccable bedrooms are light and airy, with a bath or shower room; home-made shortbread is provided. The tartan-walled lounge/bar has armchairs, pews and, in winter, an open fire. In the restaurant, the chef’s seasonal cooking includes much fish and seafood from nearby Eyemouth. Tasting menus, with wine pairings, are available. Extensive wine cellar; large collection of single malt whiskies. Lounge/bar, 3 dining areas; small beer garden. Ramp. Free Wi-Fi. ‘Easy listening’ background music. Functions. Children (cot; extra bed £20 per night) and dogs (in 2 rooms and Myrtle Cottage) welcomed. 12 bedrooms (1 cottage room, 20 yds from main house; 1 suitable for disabled). Per person B&B £89–£159. Dinner £34.
