Good Hotel Guide Review

In a terrace of classic white-stucco Victorian town houses, this ‘sophisticated’ museum-district hotel (part of the Doyle Collection) has been refurbished with a cool, glamorous interior. Open fires burn in many of the ‘uncluttered’ reception rooms; modern art sits comfortably within heritage decor. Choose a bedroom to suit – they vary in size, but all have a capsule coffee machine and a marble bathroom with top-end toiletries. Feeling peckish? Afternoon tea (including gluten-free options) is served in the ‘expansive’ drawing room; detox milkshakes, juices and custom smoothies are available. For a more substantial meal, try chef Steve Gibbs’s seasonal modern dishes in the restaurant or the clubby bar. 3 drawing rooms, K bar, Town House restaurant, Juicery. Meeting rooms. Fitness suite; spa treatment room. Free Wi-Fi, in-room TV. No background music. Children welcomed (arrival gift, board games, DVDs, tepees; family rooms). 150 bedrooms and suites (some suitable for disabled). Room from £255. Continental breakfast £15. (Underground: South Kensington)
