In a stunning setting within extensive gardens and woodland, Anne Gracie and Ken Gunn have transformed a Victorian hunting lodge into a small, hospitable hotel; they also own Toravaig House nearby (see main entry). Decorated in a modern style, bedrooms have bold prints and wallpaper; some overlook the gardens or loch, while others have views across to the Highlands beyond. Seasonal local produce from Skye and the Highlands is served in the restaurant; Peter Cullen is the new chef. The Chart Room, overlooking the Sound of Sleat, is a relaxing place for pre-dinner drinks and casual dining; afternoon tea can be taken by the log fire in the lounge or outside on the south-facing deck. Guests may book days out on the hotel's luxury yacht (Apr--Sept), with lunch and champagne included (whales, dolphins, seals and seabirds optional). Lounge, bar, restaurant, conservatory. Free Wi-Fi.
