Good Hotel Guide Review
In the peaceful, tree-lined King’s Park conservation area – ‘quite a smart part of town’ – Kari and Phillip Couser’s guest house occupies a ‘lovely’ double-fronted Victorian building on a stately square. Inside, there are claw-footed baths, graceful bay window seats, and just enough thistle and tartan. Over welcome refreshments, take in the view through huge windows, and the notable decorative ceiling in the lounge. Follow the ironwork balustrades up to most of the elegant, individually decorated bedrooms, each with a seating area; they are well supplied with bathrobes, Scottish toiletries, tea- and coffee-making equipment and bottled water. Mornings, find juices, fruit, yogurt and pastries on the breakfast buffet; cooked dishes include pancakes with home-made fruit compote, and poached eggs with haggis. Lounge, breakfast room. Free Wi-Fi, in-room smart TV (Freeview). No background music. Garden. Parking. Children over 12 welcomed. ½ mile to city centre and Stirling Castle. 7 bedrooms (1 on ground floor). Per room B&B from £99. Closed Christmas.
