We are now well progressed with this project and are planning to re-open the main hotel on the 1st of March, as planned, with the new bedrooms in time for Easter.

The project has seen a ca £1 million upgrade to the hotel, and has been funded by us, the bank (!) and Highlands and Islands Enterprise. We hope it will form the basis of new growth and iconic architectural design for many years.

The design has been created by Helen Lucan Architects, based in Edinburgh. Essentially, the whole bar and restaurant has been partially demolished and re-built with panoramic views of the loch and mountains. The new double glazed windows and insulation will allow us to significantly extend the season. This year to the beginning of December. Next year, from early February to the following January.

We are also building a new garden deck, which straddles the water, and 4 new bedrooms (giving us a total of 11)- the 2 top floor rooms will have their own little balconies with elevated views over the loch.

We are really excited by this development, and what it means for the hotel, the area and local employment.

There are many pictures on our 2 Facebook sites (regular Kylesku Hotel Facebook, and Friends of Kylesku), however, please do let me know if you would like me to send you some. Please note, these are construction photos, as we are not yet in a position to take any kind of marketing shots!
