Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
On the north side of the Borghese Gardens, this luxury hotel is decorated in Art Deco style, with jewel tones, period details and floor-length curtains. It might be a bit out of the way for some travellers (a ten-minute taxi ride to the Spanish Steps), but, write devotees: 'We love its peaceful location, its size, and the fact that it is enticingly stylish compared to the traditional big hotels in central Rome. Reception staff are unfailingly helpful; housekeeping staff perhaps the best we've encountered.' The restaurant, Sapori del Lord Byron, serves regional Italian specialities and vegetarian dishes. There is also a lounge and wine bar, Il Salotto. Portraits of women abound. The bedrooms are 'plushly furnished'. Some rooms on the ground floor open up onto a private terrace, others have balconies.
