'Wonderfully located' in the Marais, this inexpensive hotel overlooks the lively Place du Marché-Ste-Catherine. The 19th-century building has a charming wood-beamed lobby, where breakfast is served, and small but comfortable bedrooms. The 'very nice staff' are helpful. Those with mobility problems should ask for a room on the first or second floor (no ground floor rooms) as the stairs and very steep and there is no lift. There is no air-conditioning either, which can be tough in summer. Rooms facing the back of the hotel and on the top floor are quieter. There is no restaurant but there are plenty in the square.
