It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
This hotel's most famous guest was Oscar Wilde, who died here when it was a rundown boarding house, but since then a number of celebrities have stayed here and continue to do so; a revamp by interior designer Jacques Garcia has helped ensure the hotel – and it's bar – is a hip destination. Rooms are opulently decorated in a mishmash of velvet drapes, patterned wallpaper and original artworks, and with a dash of leopard print in the glamorous bar; a Michelin-starred restaurant and basement hammam pool add more touches of indulgence. Rooms are small and expensive and a bit too busy for some tastes, but many return again and again and rave about the excellent service.
