Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
A remote Victorian hunting lodge at the foot of the rocky Quiraing, with sea views to the Torridon mountains, this hotel reopened in March after a refurbishment by new owners. Though spruced up, it is still reassuringly traditional. Choices range from an attic twin in historic Flora Macdonald’s cottage, to superior, premier and deluxe rooms in the main hotel, and fantastic annexe suites with glass doors to a private patio. The surrounding land and sea inspires the menu with dishes such as loin of Hebridean lamb, crispy shoulder, hazelnut gnocchi, caper and mint vinaigrette; wild halibut with ‘Flodigarry pantry butter’. At breakfast there is haggis with potato scone, date and apple sauce; smoked haddock hollandaise, samphire and sea herbs.
