Good Hotel Guide Review
‘A wonderful experience.’ Back in the Guide after rave reviews, this handsome 17th-century mansion gazes across Beauly Firth. Guide readers in 2019 praise the ‘friendly efficient staff, lovely restaurant and great location’. The intimate bar (impressive gin menu) overlooks sweeping grounds rolling into woodland laced with trails. Traditionally styled rooms have period details, garden or lake views; some have a high four-poster, conservatory or hot tub. Chef Jon-Paul Saint serves Scottish cuisine with a twist in the wood-panelled restaurant; perhaps caramelised Tatin, charred petals, Parmesan. At breakfast, fuel up on a Highland Scottish Grill, pancakes with maple-glazed bacon; great coffee. ‘We will definitely return.’
