Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Occupying the lower floors of a 1930s-style block in the business district of Pest, this medium-priced hotel (part of the small CityHotel chain) is on a traffic-free street near the main shopping street (Váci utca). The air-conditioned rooms vary in size: 'Ours was an unusual trapezoid shape, but very comfortable,' say recent visitors. 'Rooms at the back may be even quieter, but perhaps a bit gloomy. Housekeeping was excellent, and staff were very friendly and efficient: most spoke English.' Breakfast is 'the usual Hungarian cold buffet, plus one hot dish on offer'. The Danube is five minutes' walk away. There's no lift, which can be an issue for guests staying on the second or third floor, and some guests feel the furnishings could do with a renovation.
