The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Well located, between Passeig de Gràcia (where you can see La Pedrera, Gaudí's unusual apartment building without a straight line) and La Rambla, this large, modern hotel is a Hilton hotel, but it does not feel like part of a chain. It's 'elegant appearance' makes 'a comfortable base at a reasonable price'. The decor is contemporary, with much 'brown-beige marble' and strong-coloured fabrics. 'The bedrooms vary in size, but are generally big with good bathroom,' says a regular visitor. Some rooms have a terrace; the front rooms can have traffic noise but have views of street life; rooms at the back are quieter. 'Reception staff are helpful, and there is a pleasant mezzanine bar.' The Da Luca restaurant serves traditional Italian cuisine.
