By the old city wall of Corfu's Venetian capital, and a short walk into the town with its maze of alleyways, this large hotel 'has so much going for it', and provides a peaceful escape from the heat and crush of the town. In beautiful subtropical grounds, it looks over Garitsa Bay and the Old Fort. Alexandros Anemodiannes has been the manager since 2006. There are three restaurants and a bar. All rooms have a balcony or terrace, and double glazing (there can be aircraft noise). A recent visitor considered that the buffet breakfast lacked choice for breads, yoghurts and fresh fruit; cooked can be 'greasy'. A 'magnificent' garden area surrounds the swimming pool, and there is also an indoor heated pool. Across the road is sea bathing from rocks. There's a tennis club close by.
