The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
“A good, sound hotel in a fine position.” Owned by Alix Lormand, this 19th-century demeure (Relais du Silence) is part of a small group of Roussillon hotels. It is in a traffic-free area of the charming old town centre, “down a quiet, hidden lane”. Near port and beach, it has an attractive walled garden, with flowers, palm trees, fountain and swimming pool. Of the bedrooms (all are air conditioned), the best are said to be those in the main house; some rooms are in an annexe in the garden; some ground-floor courtyard rooms, though comfortable, may be “rather small and dark”. “Caring staff, good breakfast; nice relaxing atmosphere,” say visitors. But a dissenter wrote of a “gloomy” bedroom that faced the street, and a poor welcome. B&B only: many restaurants are close by.
