The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
'Full of character, delightfully decorated and a haven of peace': this 18th-century mansion is in a side street off Boulevard St-Germain. It has old beams, rough stone walls, tiles, antique furniture, bright colours. The basement bar/breakfast room has 'a series of arched stone vaults, delightfully lit and furnished', and in summer, the good breakfast (continental or buffet) and drinks are served in the small, pretty garden. Half the bedrooms overlook the garden. Rooms vary in size: 'Ours was relatively small, but well appointed,' say visitors. The tiny cobbled forecourt has shrubs and trelliswork.
