Good Hotel Guide Review
Lush botanical wallpapers and voluptuous velvets cut a dash at this wildly welcoming, freshly converted Georgian town house hotel in the city centre. ‘Superb’, seductively dark-toned bedrooms (some snug) each have a marble-clad shower room with a rainfall shower; larger rooms are also supplied with cocktail chairs and a drinks trolley. In the speakeasy-style bar and restaurant, bare brick walls and light-bulb pendants set the tone for hours-long brunches, themed cocktails, pizzas and pastas, and wind-down nightcaps. Fear not the hipster: ‘The big attraction here,’ say trusted readers in 2020, whose young-at-heart 90-year-old father loved the place, ‘are the wonderful staff and the atmosphere they create’..
