Good Hotel Guide Review
A discreet buttling theme permeates Paul Smyth and Shaun Bailey’s ‘enjoyable, quirky’ B&B in a former 19th-century gentleman’s residence. Its ‘exceptional service and good value’ are nothing less than might be expected. Alongside Edwardian paraphernalia and curios, the lounge’s bookshelves make it ‘a tempting place to lose time in’. ‘Elegant, capacious bedrooms’ each bear the name of a famous butler (Jeeves, Hudson, Brabinger, etc.); inside, a ‘very comfortable bed, pleasing antiques; a gleaming bathroom’ with a powerful shower; some rooms offer views of the distant Malvern hills. Breakfast’s cooked dishes, which can be taken on the roof terrace, are ‘perfectly tasty’. The ‘quiet, well-located spot’ is ‘an easy walk’ from the centre.
