Good Hotel Guide Review
A ‘most welcoming’ place, this peaceful Georgian house stands in neat gardens that stretch towards Northumberland countryside. The spacious sitting room has deep leather armchairs, books to browse, and an open fire in cool weather; adults-only B&B accommodation is in large, garden-facing bedrooms on the first floor. Each room has thoughtful extras, such as tea- and coffee-making facilities, a mini-fridge and fluffy bathrobes; two rooms have a separate lounge. Ordered in advance, generous breakfasts include oak-smoked local kippers, a vegetarian platter, toasted crumpets and locally made jams. Special diets can be catered for. Well located for castle visiting, garden admiring and tootling along the coast.
