Good Hotel Guide Review
In peaceful countryside, Paul and Michelle Mattinson’s Georgian house is run as a ‘most welcoming’, child-free B&B. Spacious, garden-facing bedrooms are provided with tea- and coffee-making facilities, a mini-fridge, bathrobes, slippers and good toiletries; two also have a separate lounge. There are books and newspapers to browse in the large sitting room; in good weather, stroll through the manicured grounds, where the loudest noise is the chatter of birds. Generous breakfasts, including hot toasted crumpets, oak-smoked local kippers and locally made jams, are ordered in advance. The Mattinsons are on hand with restaurant recommendations and plenty of local information to plan your day. In between the coast and the Cheviot Hills; Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island are within easy reach. ½ mile from Chatton.
