Good Hotel Guide Review
No cause for truancy at this revamped former Victorian school and headmaster’s house, in a pretty Dales village on the River Ure. Owners Charlotte and David Reilly have adorned indulgent bedrooms with items collected from their foreign travels; a bedhead fashioned from an antique Moroccan window; Caribbean seashells; rooms with a private terrace and a hot tub worthy of California, alongside contemporary earth tones and exposed timbers. All rooms have fabulous views, posh smellies, fluffy robes. Afternoon tea is worth the trip to the Master’s Room, while in the shamelessly romantic, candlelit dining room chef Dan Shotton’s seasonal, fare includes Yorkshire venison, blackberry and beetroot; wild halibut, with onion and langoustine bisque. This hotel is also a member of Pride of Britain.
