A 12th-century castle graced with 21st-century design. In a dramatic setting on a rocky outcrop high above the Pembrokeshire landscape, the commanding property has panoramic views over St Brides Bay and the Preseli hills. B&B guests may hold court on dark suede seating in a sleekly contemporary sitting room with arches and stone alcoves; a tapestry depicts the castle’s history. Up many steps, the Sun Room merits the climb – floor-to-ceiling glass walls and an alfresco viewing platform display magnificent scenes below. Moody bedrooms have robes, slippers, a fridge, iron (upon request), iPod dock, aromatherapy toiletries. Freshly cooked breakfasts include Welsh laver bread, local honey. Free transfers take guests to a sister hotel for dinner.
