Good Hotel Guide Review
Pheasants wander the enclosed gardens and woodland of this stone-built Victorian house, within easy walking distance of the town. Once the home of a respected community doctor, it is now owned and amiably run as a modern B&B by Lynne Fordyce and John Watters, and has bright rooms and a lofty, glass-fronted extension facing the neat lawn. In the main house and converted stables, contemporary bedrooms are thoughtfully supplied with hot drinks, bottles of water and locally made biscuits. A log-burning stove warms the spacious lounge. The Scottish breakfasts offer plenty of choice: home-made compotes and Perthshire honey, whisky and cream porridge, omelettes and apple pancakes.
