Good Hotel Guide Review
A lofty glass-fronted, cedar-beamed extension creates a cathedral of light in this B&B in a former surgeon’s house set amid two acres of gardens and woodland. ‘Delightful, bright’ bedrooms, spread between the main house and converted stables, mix mountain views with contemporary flair. Some rooms are compact, some have original Georgian wooden shutters, others a skylight; all have splashes of colour and are supplied with a hospitality tray, an umbrella and ‘extremely comfortable’ chairs. The double-height extension with wood-burning stove, overlooking the gardens, is the site of a good breakfast, perhaps porridge, with a choice of topping; a full Scottish, local honey. New owners took over in June 2019.
