Good Hotel Guide Review
Within strolling distance of the city centre, Kari and Phillip Couser offer serene accommodation in their double-fronted Victorian house on leafy King’s Park square. The elegant bedrooms, decorated in heritage hues, might have a king-sized wooden sleigh bed and views of Stirling Castle; perhaps a four-poster bed, a seating area in a bay window overlooking the square – a perfect spot for a ‘room picnic’. Afternoon tea is no passing meal, but a sit-down indulgence in the orangery, with delicate finger sandwiches and toasted Osborne pudding loaf (a favourite of Queen Victoria’s). Breakfast has a generous buffet plus cooked dishes (perhaps haggis with poached eggs), all taken beneath an original Commonwealth ceiling.
