Good Hotel Guide Review
On a quiet side street in the Old Town, the Boyaci family’s ‘elegant’ hotel was ‘thoroughly enjoyed’ by Guide readers who had nothing but praise for the staff. ‘Simply superb, quite formal but friendly, ever patient with ignorant foreign tourists.’ Also enjoyed: the activities, notably a ‘fascinating’ guided walk (‘some steep streets to negotiate’). Colourful public rooms include the restaurant, which serves ‘good and not expensive’ food (‘classic dishes from around Turkey’) – in summer on a rooftop terrace with ‘lovely views’. Breakfast is ‘very good too’, though ‘the room can get a little bustling’. The bedrooms vary. ‘The layout is a bit confusing’ (the hotel is converted from several old town houses). ‘Our standard room had character – it was quite dark due to wooden panelling, and the bathroom was on the small side. We liked getting the early morning sunshine.’ (Andrew Kleissner)
