Just off the Burford's bustling medieval high street , this family-run 16th-century coaching inn with low-beamed ceilings, stone walls and flooring along with a wood-burning stove is ‘welcoming and characterful,’ write inspectors, noting some general 'wonkiness'. Bedrooms are ‘tasteful and quite spacious’. The Blue Room, at the front, has a sleigh bed, a fireplace, a newly decorated bathroom with bath and shower. Beamed Room 1, overlooking the courtyard, has a bare stone wall. All have a coffee maker and Cole and Lewis toiletries. The inn is popular locally for pub classics done well (burger, fish and chips, pies) and dishes such as crispy chicken katsu curry, coconut rice, mango and coriander salsa.
