Good Hotel Guide Review
Colleges, shops and the Fitzwilliam Museum are all within easy reach of this large, family-owned hotel overlooking the green space of Parker’s Piece. Cheerfully decorated public spaces and willing staff create a zesty ambience. There are ‘fresh and tasty’ snacks and meals to be had in the smart Atrium brasserie; in Cotto, the modern restaurant next door, fine dining menus are cooked by chef Hans Schweitzer (advance booking essential). Sleek, air-conditioned bedrooms (‘our bathroom was compact’) are equipped with tea- and coffee-making facilities, all-natural toiletries and an iPad for accessing hotel information; beds are turned down in the evening. (Rooms at the rear are quietest.) Breakfast brings an ‘enormous buffet’ and hot dishes cooked to order. On-site parking (charged) is a bonus.
