Good Hotel Guide Review

Penguin classics, original artwork and vintage curios add character to the smart bedrooms at this modish hotel, which occupies a row of five cream cake-coloured Victorian town houses close to Portobello market. Creative London provides the inspiration for the place: the hotel (part of Tracy Lowy’s Living Rooms collection) is named after Rhaune Laslett, a community activist who co-founded the Notting Hill Carnival; local architects, designers and makers contributed to the home-away-from-home feel of the place. Chic bedrooms vary from small ‘spare rooms’ to spacious, high-ceilinged suites; all are air conditioned, and well equipped with bathrobes and high-end toiletries. Brunch is served till 4 pm in the Henderson bar/café; small plates, large plates, sweets and nibbles are available all day. (Underground: Notting Hill Gate)
