The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Marie-Clare Mawle brings a fashion stylist’s eye to her Georgian house adults-only B&B with just two bedrooms. Both have a Roberts radio, fridge, fresh milk and homemade biscuits. ‘Paisley’ has a king-size bed, an over-bath power shower, while ‘Ikat’ has a super-king bed, a bath and walk-in shower. Outside, mature gardens and woodland, adrift with snowdrops in spring, are a haven for wildlife, while the river might oblige with the spectacle of the tidal surge known as the Severn Bore (only the Qiantang River in East China puts on a better show). Breakfast, served communally at the dining room table, brings bacon and sausages from locally reared pigs, salmon from the Severn and Wye Smokery.
