Good Hotel Guide Review
In the centre of a lively market town within walking distance of the Shropshire hills, this ‘splendid’ B&B is run by Diane Chadwick, a ‘wonderfully energetic’ and ‘cheerful’ hostess. The Victorian town house has ‘well-priced, convenient’ accommodation in ‘comfortable’ bedrooms, each ‘tastefully decorated’ with artworks and antiques that lend much character, and generously supplied with bathrobes and toiletries, teas, coffee, hot chocolate, sherry and biscuits. Served in a garden-facing room, breakfast has freshly baked pastries, sausages from locally reared pigs, and ‘particularly delicious mushrooms cooked in butter’. Light lunches and sweet treats are taken in the cosy, on-site café, Jemima’s Kitchen.
