Good Hotel Guide Review
‘If hotels had personalities, this one would be a cheerful extrovert.’ Across the causeway from St Michael’s Mount, this bright, south-facing restaurant-with-rooms shares the energy of its ‘young and enthusiastic’ staff. ‘Tactfully modernised and enlarged’, it is decorated with uplifting coastal colours and local artwork. ‘Smart, modern’ bedrooms face the village or the sea; the view over Mount’s Bay is worth the upgrade. ‘Our sea-view balcony was sunny from lunchtime on.’ Caught-that-day seafood is a highlight of the short, ‘fresh, tasty’ menu served in the breezy restaurant and beachfront terrace (‘a pity the menu doesn’t change more regularly’). Breakfast includes a full Cornish and a veggie shakshuka.
