An ambitious programme of extension and improvement is underway, but meanwhile the fun goes on at this hotel, ‘an excellent place for families’, with glorious coastal views and its own beach. Bedrooms and suites with sea and inland views have a contemporary simplicity. There is an all-day menu in the Vista lounge for casual dining (pizzas, burgers, fish and chips), a more formal ambience at dinner in the restaurant, where a shorter menu includes dishes such as whole Newlyn Dover sole, saffron poached potatoes, charred asparagus, fennel and dill beurre blanc, alongside the classics (steaks, mussels). They have a games room for rainy days, a health club, pool, gym, yoga classes – not to mention a Cornish cream tea.
