Good Hotel Guide Review
The Far East meets the South West at Stuart Litster and Kevin Hooper’s ‘beautiful’ B&B in a South Hams coastal village. Uncluttered, contemporary bedrooms in their Jacobean manor house have silks, tassels, Buddha sculptures and Chinese calligraphy, to go with ‘pristine bedding’, fresh flowers, magazines, biscuits and a beverage tray. With three large sofas, there is generous space in the cosy lounge to enjoy the hosts’ good cheer and slice of welcome cake – and marvel at the widescreen views across Start Bay. Fresh fruit, local yogurts, Devon sausages at breakfast. With the Coastal Path directly outside, there are good walks from the front door. The sheltered, pine-fringed bay around Blackpool Sands is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
