Good Hotel Guide Review

The Far East meets the South-West at Stuart Litster and Kevin Hooper’s inviting B&B in a South Hams coastal village. Uncluttered, contemporary bedrooms in their Jacobean manor house have silks, tassels, Buddha sculptures and Chinese calligraphy, to go with the fresh flowers, magazines, biscuits and a beverage tray. With three large sofas, there is generous space in the cosy lounge to enjoy the hosts’ good cheer and slice of welcome cake – and enjoy the widescreen views across Start Bay. Fresh fruit, local yogurts, Devon sausages at breakfast. With the Coastal Path directly outside, there are good walks from the front door; advice and guide books are readily available.

Guest comments

'The house is beautiful, with a large lounge for the use of guests, a wonderful selection of books, and superb decor throughout. Our bedroom was spacious with a comfortable, extra-large bed, pristine white bedding, , well-quipped bathroom, lovely sea and garden view, and windows which actually open to let in the sea air and bird song. Breakfast was comprehensive with delicious fresh fruit and beautifully cooked and presented food. I would like to stress, in particular, the warmth of our welcome from Stuart and Kevin. .
