Good Hotel Guide Review
Surrounded by exotic plants and palm trees, this peacefully located villa has recently been transformed into a small, luxurious hotel by Belgian photographer, Bert De Vooght. It was once the home of singer, Sarah Brightman. From the pool terrace there are breathtaking views of Peñon de Ifach (the rocky outcrop on the coast at Calpe), and plenty of shady nooks in the large garden, with comfortable loungers, a couch hammock, thatched arbour and pergola. The traditionally furnished interior has thirties style bathrooms, cool stone floors and modern comforts. Throughout the day, breakfast, light lunches and snacks are served on the terrace. Dinner can be taken at its gastronomic restaurant, in sister hotel, Casa Del Maco, a few kilometres away. A car is recommended for visiting places of interest and other local restaurants. Irma van Tellingen, who is Dutch, is the manager, and speaks many languages.
