In a magical place on the shores of Lake Caragh, a serene hotel in a Victorian-style manor. Its name translates as ‘Hill of the Fairies’, after a tree-covered knoll nearby. Each bedroom (in the main house has fine linen, antique furniture, garden views; tranquillity is preserved by the absence of TV or radio. In the elegant restaurant, candlelit dinners include fish from the Atlantic or Kerry lamb. Afternoon tea is in a fire-warmed lounge, or on the terrace in fine weather.
