The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
In the Charlottenburg district, this 'funky' designer hotel is run with an emphasis on healthy living. Eco-friendly materials have been used throughout (organic paint, etc), and there is a fitness centre. An old town house has been given a contemporary decor and a 'youthful feel'. 'It is in a street of attractive shops, just off the Ku'Damm yet quiet: we could sleep with the windows open,' write recent guests. A glass lift takes you up to the bedrooms: 'Ours had oatmeal-coloured fabrics, bathroom dashingly tiled in shades of blue and with a deep tiled bath.' Other rooms have blue and white stripes, or lavender accents, and tiles in shades of yellow or black and white. The remote-control switches in the bedrooms may be confusing, housekeeping is not always perfect, but the 'supremely comfortable' beds are admired, and 'reception staff are helpful. An Asian restaurant on the ground floor is run separately to the hotel.
