The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
This three-star B&B hotel opened in 1997 and has since doubled in size, but it is still 'welcoming and quiet', says its nominator. The buffet breakfast is 'unusually good: eggs and bacon, a great variety of cold cuts, cheese, fruit, jams, 12 different teas and decent coffee'. It is served in a pleasant room with conservatory or, in fine weather, in the 'flourishing' rear garden. Six bedrooms have balcony and bath; the others have a shower. The owner/managers, Gerard and Sabine Jurine, are 'a charming couple'; he is French, she is German, 'and the helpful reception staff are trilingual'. 'All sorts of restaurants nearby.'
