The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Built in the 12th century, demolished in the 15th, and restored by the present owners, the Audan-Bourzeix family, in the 20th, this impressive building is now a small luxury hotel. “One of our favourites in all France,” says an American traveller this year. The rooms and suites, individually designed, are “ravishing and superbly furnished”, says Michelin. All have a safe and satellite TV. Housekeeping is twice daily. The huge garden, where peacocks roam, is extensively landscaped, and activities on offer include hot-air ballooning and private wine tastings. The restaurant (residents only) serves regional specialities and uses vegetables, fruit, eggs and jam from the premises, “but we do not eat our chickens or ducks since we regard them as our pets”. Dinner is served in the refectory, with all guests at one long table, or in the courtyard at separate tables in fine weather. Children have their own menu, and babysitters can be arranged.
