Good Hotel Guide Review
In a village in rolling Burgundy country between Avallon and Vézelay, Claire and Régis Tatraux”s small white-fronted restaurant-with-rooms (Logis de France) “offers good value in a pleasant environment”, says a visitor. “Charming, simple: everything that mattered was perfect,” was another comment. It is on a busy road, but quiet at night, and most of the bedrooms (all recently renovated) are at the rear, facing the pretty garden, full of trees, shrubs and flowers. “Toiletries (though minimal) are replenished daily.” The patron”s menu was found “most appealing”: “We could have chosen anything from it” (eg, confit de canard fermier et ses pommes Sarladaises). There is a terrace for summer meals (“not a midge or mosquito in sight”). “Good, simple breakfast — excellent toasted brioche and country baguette, real jams, freshly made coffee.” The national park of the Morvan is nearby.
