The location of this luxury boutique hotel – facing Plaça Reial in the Gothic Quarter – could not be bettered and breakfast (included in the rate) is taken in the square itself. Most of the rooms have views over the square or surrounding streets, although some visitors have found the rooms on the lower floors noisy due to late night revellers. They are light and spacious, and each is individually decorated and with thoughtful little touches, such as a minibar offering free soft drinks and Nespresso machines, and decadent marble bathrooms. One room has a private plunge pool – ideal for honeymooners. The facilities include a rooftop bar and swimming pool, a spa and two highly-regarded restaurants, one formal and another offering casual tapas.
