Good Hotel Guide Review
Each bedroom in this restaurant-with-rooms has a balcony or terrace with “magnificent views” of the hills, castles and vineyards of the surrounding Barolo wine region. Run by two generations of the “friendly, multilingual” Rocca family, it has some “large, comfortable bedrooms”. A garden area, with tables under a canopy of vines, “serves as an outdoor lounge”: meals are served here in fine weather, and there are two “classically elegant” dining rooms. “Nino Rocca, the chef, larger than life, dominates the show.” “Dinner was a revelation,” say visitors, “a succession of local specialties, the right amount of variety and choice, all delicious.” Others found that “as residents, we had the most expensive, longest menu: an excellent eight-course meal”. The “amazing” wine list “offers good value” and includes some moderately priced Piemonte varieties as well as the expensive Barolos. “Considering the quality of meals and rooms, the half-board rate is a bargain.” For children there are toys and games.
