The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Beneath the 13th/16th-century château of this village near Brantôme, this 17th-century maison bourgeoise stands by the River Dronne. Owned by Frédérique and Jacques Dauba, it has old beams and stones, wooden ceilings and antique furniture. 'The hotel is elegant, the management and service could not be bettered,' says a visitor. 'Our room was in the attic but was spacious, comfortable and well equipped.' Unfortunately, the restaurant will not be open in 2015.
