The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
'Near Piazza Navona and within walking distance of all the sights (we didn't use a taxi the whole time we were in Rome), this centrally located hotel is on a quiet little street and I could sleep at night with my window open,' writes a visitor. 'Our room was not fancy, but had good water pressure in the shower, comfortable bed, and the continental breakfast had the best selection we have seen.' There are four family rooms, which have a double and smaller room with shared shower. The upper rooms have great views of the rooftops of Rome. Once the residence of cardinals and bishops, it is 'not a place of glamour or for luxury-loving guests' but a 'good-value friendly B&B with an old-time, local feeling'. Staff are praised for their attention to detail and helpfulness.
